This event addresses Mercedes-Benz safety innovations, patents, and applications.  Vehicles on display were specifically selected to represent the various safety features that have become standard on nearly all modern cars.  The event is provided with support from our local Mercedes-Benz Dealerships (Portland, Salem, and Wilsonville).  The Portland Section is host for this educational event.  It is presented to the public as a special feature for attendees of the Forest Grove Concours d'Elegance venue, July 16, 2023, one of the oldest and finest car show in the United States, and second oldest next to Pebble Beach.

"The Best or Nothing" – ever since the automobile was invented, the Mercedes-Benz brand's history has been shaped by strong values and ideas with safety in mind.  Karl Benz's vision for the automobile didn't just stop with its invention.  Many of the Mercedes-Benz safety firsts set the standard that all automobiles eventually followed.  His vision continues to live on today.  Mercedes-Benz currently holds over 100,000 patents, and that number is continuously growing.

Mercedes-Benz is the pioneer of automotive safety.  No other car manufacturer carries out such intensive research in this field and has brought so many crucial innovations onto the market.  Ever since the invention of the motor car in 1886, Mercedes-Benz has been instrumental in the development of active and passive safety, setting one new benchmark after another in the process.  Today, accident-free driving ranks as one of the most important objectives that the researchers and developers at Mercedes-Benz are working to fulfill.
