The Spinnaker in Sausalito offers a spectacular view of the San Francisco Bay, and the location is perfect for our members to explore Sausalito after the party. The committee has pre-selected seafood, poultry, and vegetarian dishes for our guests to pre-order from when registering online.

This year, we have sent out a letter of invitation, inviting the Formosa Association of Student Cultural Ambassadors (FASCA), a group of forty plus high school students to perform for us at the party between 1:30 and 2:30PM. They will be performing Lion Dance, Yo-yo acrobatics, Taiwan’s Aboriginal Cultural Dance, and talent shows.

An introduction of the FASCA -

The Formosa Association of Student Cultural Ambassadors (FASCA) Program in the USA and Canada since 2011. The program aims to build up connections between the second and third generation overseas youth, whose parents originated from Taiwan. The program includes: systematic training courses in local cities, volunteer projects in local mainstream society and community services. The program requires trainees to study and practice at the same time.

These high school students have been selected out of 600 applicants in the Bay Area annually. In order to be a FASCA member, the students must have at least 3.0 GPA, and be committed to 100 hours of community service each school year.

Our section has a rare opportunity in inviting them to perform for us at our Annual Member Appreciation Holiday Party this year. By attending our Annual Member Appreciation Holiday party, you're supporting these youth volunteers in earning their community services credit hours, and helping them to gain an edge in their college admission applications. As a token of our appreciation, and ensuring the safety of these youth volunteers, our Section will arrange and pay for a chartered bus for their transportation.
