The Pole Barn at Myers Park

McKinney, Texas

Eighty-four members turned out for our annual section picnic at the Pole Barn at Meyers Park, a beautiful Collin County Park in North McKinney.  The weather was perfect for an outdoor event and the day included lunch catered by Rudy’s BBQ followed by a clean car show.  The clean car show had a great turnout of special cars with twelve signed up to compete for first, second and third place trophies.  The winners were, First Place Bill Koch with a ’69 SL Pagoda Second Place was Lee Rogers with a ’60 190 SL and Third Place was Madalyn & James Lange with a ’81 380 SL.  Jerry Chenault presented the trophies to the winners. Ron Seifert brought the group up to date on the current state of our section and upcoming activities for the remainder of the year.  Larry Reeg brought along some items from his collection that he had fun auctioning.  Fred Hudspeth won the 50/50 raffle and donated his winnings to the section. Larry donated the money from the auction also.  It was a great day and folks enjoyed just being outside in reasonable weather with a chance to make new friends and visit with old friends.
