The Mercedes-AMG GT R has been named a 2018 Automobile All- Star by AUTOMOBILE. The prestigious award was presented at the 2018 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance, March 10, 2018.

After days of testing on both road and racetrack, the AUTOMOBILE editorial staff selected the 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT R as an AUTOMOBILE All-Stars winner. The AMG GT R rose to the top of a large list of all new or heavily revised vehicles to claim the prestigious award. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class was previously named an AUTOMOBILE All-Star in 2015.

Featuring pioneering technologies, the AMG GT R was designed with racetrack use firmly in mind. Intelligent lightweight construction, a handcrafted, 577 horsepower AMG 4.0L V8 biturbo engine and specifically adapted seven-speed dual-clutch transmission provide breathtaking straightline performance. Innovative aerodynamics with active components, a new, adjustable coilover suspension, active rear-wheel steering, a 9-way adjustable AMG TRACTION CONTROL system and an electronic limited-slip differential all contribute to the GT R's stunning track performance, including a 7:10.9 lap at the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

In the AMG GT R, extreme track performance does not come at the expense of street comfort. Selectable shock damping allows the GT R to remain comfortable during day-to-day driving, while KEYLESS-GO, COMAND navagion, power/heated/memory seats and numerous safety systems make the AMG GT R both practical and safe.
